Jenny Wang focuses her practice on transactional and regulatory aspects of the health care industry, such as complex hospital-physician integration and affiliations, mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, fraud and abuse matters, and tax-exempt bond financings. She advises multi- facility health systems, free-standing district and community hospitals, children’s hospitals, medical foundation clinics, physician and dentistry practice management companies, private equity firms, large medical groups, clinical laboratory companies and other health care entities. Jenny is a contributing editor of the American Health Lawyers Association’s (AHLA) Representing Hospitals and Health Systems Handbook, examining the multitude of issues that those who represent hospitals and health system need to be informed.
Jenny draws from her own experience in the health sector prior to law school as a medical malpractice claims investigator for a professional liability insurance company and a biochemical research associate for a pharmaceutical company. She also has experience working in Shanghai, China, on cross-border corporate transactions. Prior to joining Athene Law, Jenny was a Partner in the Health Industry Advisory Practice Group of McDermott Will & Emery.

Assisted with the formation of a limited liability company among Anthem Blue Cross and six other competitive hospital systems in the Los Angeles area. The venture, “Anthem Blue Cross Vivity,” offers a network of 6,000 doctors and 14 hospitals, in total, to large self- insured employers

Represented nonprofit hospitals in multiple joint venture transactions with management companies and physician groups, including ambulatory surgery centers and imaging centers

Advised children’s hospitals in physician integration efforts and affiliations with pediatric medical groups

Advised a California children’s hospital in the formation of a new medical foundation and the acquisition of multiple pediatric medical groups

Jenny earned her B.A. in Molecular and Cell Biology from the University of California at Berkeley and received her J.D. from the University of Southern California Gould School of Law.
